Supporting fast-turning shafts using thrust spherical roller bearings
To support mainly axial loaded shafts from 65 mm to 160 mm in diameter Nachi’s thrust roller bearings EXS are most suitable. Nachi showed this type of bearings during Hannover Fair 2017. In addition to the typical advantage – tolerant against deflection and misalignment of the shaft – these repeatedly improved bearings offer some more outstanding advantages.

The thrust spherical roller bearings EXS heat up 30% less compared to standard-type thrust spherical roller bearings – even at speeds up to 3500 1/min, shaft diameter 65 mm. The specialists of Nachi have achieved this feature using a low-friction steel cage that completely encloses the rollers. Combined with a high-quality surface of the rollers and the high-precision manufacturing of the roller ends a significantly higher energy-efficiency is provided. Bearings EXS have considerable less friction and heat losses than comparable products. Therefore they can run at 20 % higher speeds. Moreover, Nachi’s EXS type realizes the worlds highest load rating and can run at significantly higher loads.
This is achieved using rollers of larger diameter with optimized roller curvature. Due to the special heat treatment these bearings are suitable for environmental temperatures up to 200 °C. They can support vertical as well as horizontal shafts. Due to their reliable roller guidance with an enclosing, pressed steel cage and their inner and outer rings made of high-grade steel they achieve a very long service time. Lubrication with eather oil or grease will suit these bearings.
These bearings are preferrably utilized for applications like heavy machinery, papermills, printing presses, packaging machinery, extruders, big-sized gears, ships’s propulsion (propeller shafts), screw conveyors, energy generation plants, agricultural and construction machinery.
